This site and the training modules herein are researched, written, designed, hand-coded, and maintained by Dr. Tamara Phillips Fudge, a full-time professor in the MSIT program of Purdue University Global. Her career has seen decades of classroom and online teaching in a wide variety of topics, starting with music (vocal and choral music, foreign language diction, opera production, pedagogy, piano, music theory, composition, and others), and now technology (systems analysis and design, web development, human-computer interaction, and courses featuring documentation, problem-solving, ethics, diagramming, and presentation). She has won awards for teaching and innovation, regularly writes curriculum and coordinates large projects, and has had a good number of book chapters and journal articles published. In addition to teaching, she served for several years as a weekend correspondent for the Quad-City Times in Davenport, IA and endured a brief stint as an agent/registered representative selling life and health insurance and variable products. Current projects include these training modules, but also research into other technology topics.

How did I get here?
You were probably given the home page URL by an instructor, boss, colleague, or friend. Fudgelink has not requested indexing by Google, but they might eventually find us.
How are sources presented in the modules?
APA 7th edition rules were employed. In-text citation identifies sentences with ideas emanating from sources, and reference entries are provided on each page to fully inform the reader. Uncited content is the product of the author's years of knowledge and experience with the topics.
Was AI used for anything?
To quote the Wizard of Oz (1939), it was "morally, ethically, spiritually, physically, positively, absolutely, undeniably and reliably" not used in any way. Every part of this site was hand-coded in HTML, CSS, PHP, and a smattering of JavaScript, and content was researched and written the old-fashioned way. Why do some modules require a higher percentage on the final quiz than others?
Short modules with short quizzes tend to require a higher percentage simply because they are short. Longer modules have more content, intermittent questions for learning, time expected for experimenting with the concepts, and longer quizzes.
Can I retake a quiz if the grade is not high enough for a certificate?
Absolutely! There is no limit to how many times you can take a quiz.
How is the timing determined?
The modules might be completed in less time than indicated. The declared timing for each module is generally based on about 5 minutes per page of instruction depending on length and content complexity, 1 minute per quiz question, and some extra time in a few modules where you are encouraged to experiment with the gained knowledge or answer questions while learning. This is of course subjective, as it depends on the site visitor's previous experiences and knowledge, reading speed, and other factors. Certificates will show the higher end of the published timing rather than individual time spent.
Can I share an idea for an additional module?
Suggestions are welcome, but please understand that they may or may not result in a new module, depending on the time needed and the author's workload. Send ideas to webmaster @ fudgelink.com.
Will these fulfill my employer's professional development requirements?
This will likely depend on your job description and your employer's needs. If you need PD hours, ask your boss before working through a module.
